Energizing the Electrical Cooperatives of the Future

Futurist Jack Uldrich

"The energy industry may appear to many as resistant to change," says global futurist and energy trend expert Jack Uldrich. "That may or may not be a fair assessment.

"What is fair to say is," says Uldrich, "that the industry is poised for an extraordinary change in the years ahead. What has served the industry well in the past won't be sufficient for remaining competitive in the future. It is imperative that the leadership in the industry get energized and embrace a new approach."

"Continuous disruption is the new normal. And the most successful innovators/leaders in the utility and energy industry will ask better questions and as a result, receive better answers."

Uldrich's concept for leadership is "The Big AHA." AHA is his acronym for Awareness, Humility, and Action. Uldrich says these three tenets are critical for leaders. He goes on to state that "AHA," combined with a willingness to "unlearn," will provide fertile ground for leaders for future growth.

On June 6, Uldrich is slated to provide insight into energy trends and leadership for the Electric Cooperatives of South Carolina.

Within the next decade, Renewable energy, the Internet of Things, AI and Big Data will have an extraordinary impact, says Uldrich.

Hailed as the "Chief Unlearning Officer" by Businessweek, Uldrich says, "Continuous disruption is the new normal. And the most successful innovators/leaders in the utility and energy industry will ask better questions and as a result, receive better answers."

A distinguished thought leader and global futurist, Jack Uldrich is the author of 11 books and a regular guest and contributor on a variety of national news outlets.

Known throughout the world for his assessment of renewable energy and technological trends and their effect on our society, Uldrich has delivered keynote presentations and workshops for National Society of Accountants for Cooperatives, the Southern California Gas Company, Southern Company, Northwestern Energy, the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association, and the Minnesota Rural Electric Cooperative, in addition to several others.
